Cass Freight Index ®. The Cass Freight Index ® measures overall North American freight volumes and expenditures. With over 8,000 subscribers, our monthly report is the source of insight into freight trends and how they relate to other supply chain indicators and the wider economy. Calculation methodology for the index was developed by the University of Tennessee’s Global Supply Chain Institute in collaboration with Cass.
